  • The Salkantay Trek begins from march to December. Do not do this hike in January or February, being in maintenance, the inca trail and rainy season in the sierra.
  • Our tours are based on the number of people in a group.
  • Student discount: $ 25 off per person
  • Student discounts apply to students who possess a card Green ISIC. Children under the age of 16 years are eligible for student discount. Please send all information or details to the email mapitrekkingperu@gmail.com
  • Your guide will give you their train tickets. The train usually leaves at around 2:55 p. m. and you arrive to Cusco at 7:45 p. m. although this may be subject to changes. You can choose to have an extra night in Aguas Calientes to explore Machu Picchu and visit the hot springs in Aguas Calientes.
  • The train included in all tours is the backpacker Bolt ( Ollanta). The schedules of the trains will only be confirmed once you have paid the full amount of the tour. The first train that you can take is 13:37 p. m. and the 9:20 p. m. it's the last train. Mapi Trekking Peru will arrange transportation back to Cusco (taxi or bus).

A partir del 1 de enero de 2024, se cobrará a nuestros clientes un 3% adicional por todas las transacciones con tarjeta de crédito y PAYPAL. Este 5% se incluirá en su saldo restante. El saldo debe pagarse en Cusco antes del inicio de su recorrido.

Tours Details

  • Si tienes un grupo mayor a 12 personas, tu eliges la fecha. No te quedes sin conocer un pedazo del Peru !! 2 personas
  • (tamaño mínimo del grupo) deben tener un máximo de 5 porteadores y 16 personas (tamaño máximo del grupo) deben tener 22 porteadores.
  • Las propinas a porteadores, cocineros o guías son opcionales y NO están incluidas en nuestro precio. Sin embargo, nuestro consejo es que dé una propina a nuestro personal en función de su desempeño, servicio y conocimiento.
  • Nuestras pautas para dar propina a nuestro personal son las siguientes:
    Cada porteador recibe 100 soles, cada asistente de cocina 150 soles, el chef principal recibe 300 soles.
    Los miembros del grupo pueden dar una propina a los guías turísticos asistentes, sugerimos un 5% del costo total del recorrido.
  • Los guías principales reciben propinas individualmente y en función de su desempeño. Los guías turísticos son personas profesionales que dedican mucho tiempo a capacitarse en otros campos como la arqueología, la historia y la WFA.
  • Sugerimos a las personas que consideren darle una propina a nuestro guía entre el 10% y el 15% del valor de su recorrido.
  • El tren incluido en todos los tours es el tren Expedition (hacia Ollanta). Los horarios de los trenes sólo se confirmarán una vez que se haya pagado el importe total del tour.
  • El primer tren que puedes tomar es el de las 14:55 y el de las 21:20 siendo el último tren (temporada alta de junio a septiembre). Organizaremos el transporte de regreso a Cusco (en taxi o en bus).

DAY 1

Start time:

Between 4:30.m – 5:00.m.

Travel:

Bus to Mollepata (local bus if you are less then 5 people)

The highlight of the day:

A 3-hour hike up to Cruzpata. Panoramic view of beautiful snowy mountains (Nevado Humantay; 4120 m / 13500 feet and Salkantay; 6271 m / 20575 feet. More ascent to Soraypamapa with beautiful scenery on the way.

Lunch in Cruzpata. Dinner at the camp.

Accommodation:  

Camping with tents in Soraypamapa 4200m / 13750ft. This place is the camp's highest and cold of our hike.

DAY 2

Start time:

5:00 am

Travel:

Hike all day

The highlight of the day:

Ascend to the highest pass of the trek 4650m / 13500 ft between the Salkantay mountain to the right and Tucarhuay to the left with a breathtaking view. The mountains are covered with snow all year round and there is the possibility of snow at this altitude. It descends through the spectacular landscape of the cloud forest to Huayracpunku and the beginning of the high forest.

Breakfast at the camp, lunch in Huayracpunku and dinner at the camp in the night.

Accommodation:

Camping in tents in Colcapampa 3000m / 9800ft.

Other information:

The horses and mules for rent are available this day. Take you in the event that this day is too difficult for you.

DAY 3

Start time:

6:30 pm.m.

The highlight of the day:

We will walk through the forest top were crossing the river Lluskamayo and many other streams to The Beach. The landscape is varied as we passed waterfalls, and we see many fruits and tropical plants. After arriving to Santa Teresa, we will visit the hot springs for a relaxing afternoon (Colpamayo).

Breakfast at the camp, lunch on The Beach and dinner at the camp in the night.

Accommodation:

Camping in tents in Santa Teresa 1500m / 4905ft.

Other information:

Hotels are available in Santa Teresa at an additional cost of $ 35.

DAY 4

Start time:

08 am.

Travel:

Walk to the village of Machu Pichu. You can also take the Train (optional) from the hydroelectric station to Aguas Calientes.

The highlight of the day:

After crossing the bridge of Santa Teresa and follow the Urubamba river and up the river, we passed many plantations of coca leaves, bananas and coffee, until you get to the hydroelectric station. From here we can see the mountains Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu to arrive at Aguas Calientes.

Other information:

There are hot springs in Aguas Calientes (10 soles) that you can visit at night, is located 5 minutes from the village.

DAY 5

Start time:

5:00 am.

Travel:

Bus to Machu Picchu

The highlight of the day:

A walking tour (2 hours) of Machu Picchu with your guide. Ascent optional Huayna Picchu 2720m / 8923ft. Takes 45 minutes to get to the top.

Meals:

Breakfast at the hotel in Aguas Calientes. Lunch in Aguas Calientes (not included)

Accommodation:

You will return to Cusco at your own accommodation for this night.
